KVA is a power charge that has been allocated against your electricity Half Hourly supply. It is the amount of estimated power reserved from the National Power Grid to guarantee the provision of a certain volume of power to your property. Most of the time, it is assumed that the only way to lower your costs is to reduce the usage however, this is not the case with KVA charges.

If your KVA level is set too high, you will be charged for energy that you will never use, however, if your KVA level is set too low you could receive excess KVA charges on your invoice as well as putting your wiring and electrical appliances at risk. Energy suppliers are not obliged to pass this data on to their customers as it is outset by your network provider.
