1.0 Introduction

This statement has been made in accordance with the section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the steps we have taken and continuously take to ensure any modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business operations and direct supply chains.

If any suspicious acts within the organisation, any business dealings or direct suppliers are taking place, it will be dealt with according to the regulations and reported to the relevant authorities with suspended interactions between Energy Costcutters Limited and the party involved until an outcome has been reached.

Energy Costcutters Limited has a zero tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and in a transparent manner to effectively identify, monitor and put in place controls to prevent against any form of modern slavery.

1.1 What is Modern Slavery?

Modern Slavery can take up many forms and below are the main forms which are covered by the UK Government:

• Slavery – being owned by someone with rights deprived
• Servitude – in a state of being controlled by someone with no freedom
• Human Trafficking - transport of people through violence and exploiting them for financial or personal gains
• Forced and Compulsory Labour - employed involuntarily for work or service by being threatened
• Exploitation - action of treating someone unfairly for their own benefit

1.2 Our Intention

Energy Costcutters Limited will not enter into a business relationship with any party which knowingly supports or is found to have involved itself in any aspect of the above.

1.3 Our Expectations

We expect all employees, energy suppliers, consultants, business partners and any other parties (including individuals and partnerships) associated with Energy Costcutters Limited to have zero tolerance towards modern slavery. We reserve the right to request access to the policies of all others in this regard.

1.4 Due Diligence Process

We ensure that modern slavery is not taking place in our organisation by taking the following steps:

• We limit the geographical scope of our operations to the UK
• Where possible we build long-standing relationships with local suppliers and expect these entities to have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies in place
• We have a system in place to encourage the reporting of concerns

1.5 Measures

The following measures demonstrate our effectiveness in ensuring that modern slavery does not take place in any part of our business:

• Right to work checks completed at recruitment stage and any suspicions by the interview panel regarding modern slavery documented and followed up
• Ensure minimum employment age is adhered to, in line with relevant legislation
• Always apply national minimum wage thresholds, in line with the relevant legislation

1.6 Training and Reporting

All staff have been trained and encouraged to report any concerns or suspicious behaviour in relation to modern slavery. The organisation will then take appropriate actions in line with government laws.
